Ships mod lets you build a ship out of blocks and sail it around the Minecraft world! Other mods have attempted this in the past. Some of these projects have been abandoned, and in my opinion, the remaining ones leave something to be desired. Ships mod is my take on how I think sailing should work in Minecraft and this aims to be a high-quality and feature-rich mod. Have you ever thought of changing the inner logic of your mod? There is a dead mod that can create floating movable islands called Metaworlds.

The way the mod does it is by putting a ship island into a separate world file and then loading this file back to your world. The results are truly remarkable. Not only you can walk on a floating islands but you can also build on it as it moves, island can face random direction and all redstone stuff, door, etc work as a clock. You can drop dynamite from your island too while it moves. You do not even have to dock an island anywhere because it has no limitations at all. Videos, illustrating the idea.

Oct 10, 2011  Ships&Boats now requires Minecraft Forge to work. As a rule of thumb, most mods that are compatible with minecraft forge should be compatible with this mod. Thats the first thing I thought about when I saw this! I hope the author adds the good old features of metaworlds. I loved that mod. I Really thought this was ganna be it for a ship mod, now that Archamedies is no longer updateing but sails wile a nice addition and i applad the developer really way to go great mod i love it. I feel it is not ready. I need steam engins, the crafting can coast insain amounts of Ore (9 blocks of 9 ore? Maybe a diamond or two for fun) if you feel it nessasary, but i would like large ships of 2000 blocks to move with out the added blocks of sails, and they need to move fast at least 10 meters per seccond (this is not unrealistic for a steam ship).

It would be great if the steam engins did not cost alot of coal/wood to run too becouse then no one would want it Maybe for each 1000 blocks to maintain a speed of 10 meters per seccond you need one engin at 1500 blocks one steam engin does not move at all? I dont know steam engins give it a thought this is my thinking. Other then my huge rant here Great job.

I'm having less time than ever to work in the mods, so progress is going extremely slow. Some of my teammates have been also very busy lately. Ships&Boat coding is much more complex than other mods, and now is more complex than ever, because of the SMP integration.
