I am using a CT4760 SBLive! I think it's a 'gamer' model SBLive! For the installation, I am using the CD.ISO file found on Malik's Creative drivers thread,.

With the Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1 USB Sound Card, Creative gives us the possibility to upgrade the audio for both Windows and Mac laptops but also to enhance signal quality for desktops which do not feature a dedicated sound card (mini-ITX builds anyone?). Sanyo tool reset bq8030 datasheet pdf software.

The specific piece of software from that thread is this one: (Not clickable, the actual link to the software is ) Rather than burn this.ISO file on to a CD-R, I simply unpacked this.ISO file, and copied the full unzipped contents over to my CF drive. The installation appears to work, up to this point: After a lot of files have been copied over during the installation process (to a fresh installed W98SE CF drive), W98SE 'sees' the SBLive! Card, and then asks me to find the driver folder for it. That's a bit weird, Creative. Why can't you do that yourself, as part of your installation routine?

So, I manually browse to a suitable looking sub folder, and point the installation routine at the 'Creative.Windows 9x driver' sub folder, but the installer says that it isn't interested in this folder. So, I then point the installation routine at a WDM driver sub folder instead. The Creative installation routine is happy now.

A bit later, 2 message boxes pop up warning me that ksuser.dll and Stream.sys are older than the ones found on my W98SE installation CF drive, and so I choose not to copy them from the Creative installation folders to my CF drive. The installation then hangs at this stage: I am able to press the Windows 'start' key, I then shut down the PC. If I reboot it, I look at the Control Panel resources area, and I find this: Generally speaking, the card does work OK, because I installed a different software package for it: the Live!Ware 3.0 package. That works fine. I wonder why the first installation detailed above does not work?

My system is: i440BX mobo, P3 CPU, SBLive! Is in PCI slot #2. I have no 'I/O attachment' to the SBLive! Card, and the SBLive! Card just says Live! On it, not 'Live!

I wonder if I'm using the wrong installation CD? Any ideas please people? Thanks a lot for any advice! Edit: In the root of the CD.ISO file mentioned above, there is a DISK.ID file, and its contents are.

I decided to try this again. I burnt the ISO file on to a CD-R. Unfortunately, I get exactly the same result. My guess is that this ISO file is not intended for the CT4760 X-Gamer SBLive! I wanted to try this ISO file, because it's got more software on it than the Live!Ware 3.0 driver that can be found on DriverGuide. Although this download is 30 meg, it only has AudioHQ, and a few other bits and pieces.
